About the Author
Dr. Lisa M. Costello is a lifelong West Virginian who hails from Weirton, WV and resides in Morgantown, WV where she is an Assistant Professor in the Department Pediatrics at West Virginia University (WVU) and a Pediatric Hospitalist at WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital. She is co-director of the Pediatrics Clerkship, leads a healthcare literacy and patient advocacy curriculum thread for the M.D. program, and is the advisor for the medical student group, Student Advocates Impacting Decision on Healthcare.
Dr. Kathryn Moffett is a pediatric infectious diseases physician and clinical researcher. She is passionate about excellence in the care of patients with infectious diseases and cystic fibrosis. During her 26 years at WVU Medicine, she has helped build a cystic fibrosis center from a small unaccredited clinic to a highly successful separately accredited adult and pediatric centers, with a focus on patient care, teamwork, quality improvement, and research. She works collaboration with WVU Medicine Children’s clinical care team, research/clinical trials team, Department of Physical Therapy, Department of Pharmacy, and Department of Psychology. Dr. Moffett believes in prevention of infectious diseases, and is proud that the state of West Virginia is a leader in vaccine advocacy and children’s health.
